She released her debut single, Here in 2015 when she was 19 years old. The single was a hit and was praised by fans and critics alike. The song reached the top spot in both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track among the 2015's most memorable Songs. She debuted her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five songs that reached the top charts on Billboard as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. This particular song was special because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up, many people shared their experiences through self-doubt and discovering how to be a better person. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about mental health, kindness and self-love within her songs. Her music is a reflection of her personal struggle to deal with depression and insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes the album as tumultuous as well as half-perfected. She found growth through therapy and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. When she was 10 years older, her parents bought her a guitar which became the basis of her musical passion. When she was 13 she began covering music she loved on YouTube for the purpose of showing people that she was talented and determined to pursue music as a profession. The cover she did, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and record her own tracks.
